Learning How to Catch Trout is Fun and Rewarding
Hi, my name is Mark. I’m better known by my fishing buddies as the Creek Creature. The Creek Creature is a nickname handed to me by a group of friends many, many, years ago. It symbolizes my passion for trout fishing and my love for being on, or should I say, in the water. Over my lifetime of trout fishing, I have developed a knack for catching trout, lots of trout. Today, I have a better understanding of why that is and I want to share it with you. Here is a little about Mark, The Creek Creature.
I began trout fishing when I was a wee kid of about 5. Lucky enough to have a trout stream down the road from where I lived. I spent umpteen hours with my friends exploring and playing on that creek. As time went on my trout fishing adventures had me traveling all over the state of Pennsylvania in search of new territory and new waters. In addition to trout fishing, I have been an avid whitetail hunter as well, having hunted many different states and Canada. The information I share with you on this website is a culmination of actual collected knowledge from years of experience gained while chasing trout throughout Pennsylvania and nearby states. Also, I have learned a huge amount from many friends and acquaintances I have had the pleasure to fish with through the years. In particular, many thanks goes to my fishing partner Paul, “the professor”, whose relationship spans over 35 years. The information we have shared with each other from our experiences on the water is invaluable. It is this type of information, “tips and tricks”, I wish to share with you.
When my daughter began fishing with me at the age of 5 the journey of sharing was underway for both of us. She learned quickly how to be successful at catching trout simply because I was there to help her along by sharing what I know. The time we spent fishing provided quality family time for my daughter and me. We had a chance to explore more than just the world around us, but the world within us. I highly recommend, to dads or moms, take your kid trout fishing and learn together. It may be one of the best things to ever happen to you.
Sharing What I Have Learned
The goal of this website is to share what I have learned over the years in my pursuit of trout. Through telling some stories, blog posts, and answering your questions in the comment sections, I hope for you to learn and gain a better understanding of the world of a trout fisherman.
You Can’t Take it With You
As the creek creature author, the pages of this website also provide a way for me to give back to the sport that has given me so much. Passing on to the next generation the knowledge and experience, by teaching our kids, or sharing things with friends and family, is one of the essences of life itself.
As you read the pages of this site, you’ll learn how to catch trout, you’ll learn about the equipment used, and many techniques or “tricks and tips”. As you experiment with the ideas presented, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge you’ll need to be a successful trout fisherman.
But in addition, don’t be surprised if you walk away learning a little bit more than how to catch trout.
